Event Maureen Langan, featuring Mike Capozolla & Hosted by Priya Prasad Dates/Times October 11, 2014 @ 8pm Event Description Headliner Maureen Langan performs all over the world. You can hear her wry, wicked and smartly piercing wit every Sunday night at 10pm on KGO radio. She was a finalist in the 2009 San Francisco Comedy Competition and is a regular at Caroline’s on Broadway in New York City. Featured act Mike Capozzola is a Bay Area based stand up comedian and a published cartoonist. He’s also appeared in a batch of TV commercials that you’ve shut off. He’s a regular invited performer at SF SketchFest and has performed in London, Edinburgh, Vancouver and Jerusalem. Other jobs have included three different species of mascot, a police sketch artist, substitute teacher and taxi driver. Our host, Priya Prasad, has her own style of comedy. She is witty, intelligent and thought-provoking. Pittsburg Pops 2014 Season The Pittsburg Pops 2014 season is upon us, and this year the concert series will be housed at the beautifully restored California Theatre in Old Town Pittsburg. The current event schedule is as follows: June 21: The Best Intentions Motown Revue. July 12: Shane Dwight rock and blues guitar. August 16: Marcus Shelby Jazz Orchestra featuring Faye Carol (they will also present a special pre-show workshop and lecture in the Pittsburg Library Community Room) September 20: Rolando Morales, Latin/Flamenco All shows begin at 8 p.m. Individual ticket prices begin at $15 and can be purchased at the California Theatre Box Office at 351 Railroad Avenue, by telephone at 925-427-1611, or online by visiting the theatre’s website. Pittsburg Pops was reintroduced by the Pittsburg Arts & Community Foundation earlier this year with performances at the California Theatre by the Junius Courtney Big Band and Foreverland, a 14 piece tribute band to Michael Jackson. The Pittsburg Arts and Community Foundation is a local non-profit organization with a mission that includes promotion of the performing arts, literacy, visual arts and cultural events. Pittsburg Pops brings high caliber entertainers to the historic California Theatre at affordable ticket prices.

This year’s Old Town Pittsburg “taste of” event, the Culinary Crawl begins on Thursday, June 5th and runs alternating weeks through the Summer. Join the Crawl any week during the season and visit all the host restaurants and other eateries and businesses that Old Town has to offer. 5:30 – 8:30pm. DATE / HOST RESTAURANT Note: You will visit all participating businesses each week, however one restaurant is the designated final “host” of the week. Sample a taste of what the eatery has to offer, or a special treat from a participating business. The Old Town Pittsburg Classic Car Show returns on June 19th this year. Presented by the Pittsburg Arts and Community Foundation, this family oriented event runs through the summer on Thursdays from 6 to 8 pm.
